Stark County Charity Drawings

Funding Public Safety Across Our Local Communities

When you buy a ticket on this site, your money does not disappear into a massive corporate black hole. It stays right here in Northeast Ohio.

The North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department is an independent, volunteer-run operation. Every dollar raised through our community drawings goes straight toward protecting your neighbors, your local businesses, and your family.

We operate right out of the heart of the region. Our drawings give locals a fun, high-stakes way to win incredible gear while providing our station with the steady funding required to keep our trucks rolling and our rescue gear updated.

Coverage Area

The Communities We Protect Daily

Our volunteer crew covers a massive footprint across county lines. We handle emergency calls, structure fires, and vehicle accidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your support keeps our team equipped to protect multiple distinct local zones.

01 · Stark County

Lawrence Township | We provide primary fire and rescue coverage throughout the township, ensuring fast response times for local families.

02 · Stark County

Tuscarawas Township | Our team answers the call across neighboring Tuscarawas Township, collaborating closely on regional emergencies.

03 · Wayne County

Baughman Township | We extend our emergency services into Wayne County, protecting rural properties, farms, and local roads.

Keeping Local Tax Burdens Low

Many people do not realize that standard township property taxes only cover a small slice of what it actually costs to run a modern rescue department.

Buying gear, maintaining fire engines, and putting volunteers through hundreds of hours of intense training adds up fast.

Instead of asking for massive tax hikes or public funding increases, we use these charity drawings to bridge the gap. It is a win-win for our neighborhoods.

You get locked-in, fixed odds on premium trucks, tractors, and outdoor equipment, and our station gets the financial support required to maintain peak readiness without draining local municipal budgets.

Breaking Down The Real Cost Of Fire Equipment

To understand why these drawings matter, you have to look at the staggering price tags on standard emergency gear. We are not just talking about the big red trucks parked in the bays. Every single item an emergency responder wears or holds costs thousands of dollars, and almost all of it has a strict expiration date.

Turnout Gear Personal Protection | A single set of boots, pants, coat, gloves, and helmet runs thousands of dollars. This gear protects our volunteers from extreme heat and toxic smoke, and state regulations require us to replace it every ten years, regardless of how clean it looks.

Self Contained Breathing Apparatus SCBA Units | The air packs our crew wears into burning buildings are precision life-support systems. A single air pack, mask, and carbon-fiber bottle assembly requires a massive investment, and the bottles must be hydro-tested regularly and fully retired after fifteen years.

Thermal Imaging Cameras And Extrication Tools | Seeing through thick black smoke requires specialized thermal cameras that cost thousands per unit. The heavy hydraulic jaws, cutters, and rams we use to pop open smashed vehicles at accident scenes on Route 30 require thousands more in upfront capital and annual maintenance.

When you purchase drawing entries, you are directly paying for this gear. You might be aiming to win a new pickup truck or a John Deere tractor, but the profit from your ticket purchase is actively buying the air bottles that keep a volunteer alive inside a smoky room.

Fiscal Stewardship

The Economics Of Independent Emergency Response

Operating an independent volunteer fire department means running a highly complex non-profit business where the stakes are life and death.

We do not have a guaranteed, bottomless bucket of city tax revenue to pull from when an engine breaks down or building utilities skyrocket.

We manage our station with extreme financial discipline. Every dollar is tracked, scrutinized, and stretched to maximize community safety.

Traditional fundraising methods like chicken dinners, pancake breakfasts, and annual mail donation drives still help, but they simply cannot match the massive financial demands of twenty-first-century emergency response. Our online drawing platform changes the entire economic landscape for our station.

By offering high-value prizes that appeal to outdoor enthusiasts, tradespeople, and homeowners across Ohio, we can generate the large-scale funding needed for major capital purchases.

This means when we need to refurbish a fire engine or upgrade our station's emergency backup generator, the funds are already sitting in the bank, fully cleared and ready to deploy.

Training & Certification

Training The Next Generation Of Responders

Having top-tier trucks and shiny tools means absolutely nothing if you do not have highly trained people to operate them.

Our volunteers are ordinary people with normal day jobs. They are mechanics, factory workers, teachers, and business owners who live down the street from you. Transforming a willing volunteer into a competent, safe first responder requires hundreds of hours of rigorous certification training.

Firefighter I And II State Certifications | Volunteers spend months in classroom lectures and intense live-burn training structures learning fire dynamics, ventilation tactics, and search and rescue maneuvers.

Emergency Medical Responder Training | Because the vast majority of our emergency calls are medical in nature, our crew undergoes continuous medical training to handle cardiac arrests, traumatic injuries, and respiratory crises.

Specialized Technical Rescue | Our coverage area includes heavy agricultural operations, active rail lines, and major highways. Our team trains constantly for farm machinery extrications, hazardous materials response, and high-angle rope rescues.

Live Incident Drills | Every single week, our crew gathers at the station to run mock drills, test our equipment, and review response protocols to ensure our teamwork is flawless when a real alarm rings.

The state-mandated courses, textbooks, training materials, and live-burn fees are fully funded by our department.

Your drawing entries ensure that our younger recruits and veteran members never have to pay out of pocket to receive the absolute best safety training available.

Since 1956

Deep Roots In Stark County History

We are proud of our heritage. The North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1956 by a group of dedicated local citizens who realized our rural area needed its own rapid, dedicated protection.

We started small, with used equipment and a deep commitment to our neighbors.

Over the decades, the landscape of Stark and Wayne Counties has changed, but our core mission has stayed exactly the same.

We have grown from a small township outpost into a highly capable, modern emergency response agency. The digital drawing platform is simply the latest chapter in our long history of community-driven self-reliance.

We do not look for handouts, and we do not wait around for federal grants that might never arrive. We roll up our sleeves, build an incredible prize lineup, and invite our community to partner with us directly.
